Child Safety & Ethics Statement

The Happy Core™

Our commitment to children and families

The safety, dignity, and emotional well-being of every child is foundational to everything we do at The Happy Core™.

All programs, stories, tools, workshops, and therapeutic elements are designed to support children in a way that is developmentally appropriate, consent-based, and emotionally safe—with respect for the child, the family, and the environments in which they live and learn.

Child-centered, consent-based approach

Children are never forced, pressured, or manipulated into participation.

We believe that:

  • children should understand what they are being invited to do

  • participation should always feel safe and voluntary

  • a child’s “no,” hesitation, or need for pacing is respected

When working directly with children, activities are framed as invitations, not commands. Children are encouraged to listen to their own comfort level and are supported in choosing what feels right for them.

Parental involvement and transparency

Parents and caregivers are considered essential partners in a child’s growth and well-being.

  • Parents are informed about the nature of programs, tools, and methods used.

  • For any therapeutic or hypnotherapy-based support, parental consent is required.

  • Parents are welcome to ask questions, request clarification, and receive guidance on how to support their child outside of sessions.

There are no hidden techniques, scripts, or practices. Transparency is a core value.

About hypnosis and guided imagery

When hypnosis or guided imagery is used, it is done in a gentle, age-appropriate, and ethical manner.

Child-focused hypnosis:

  • does not involve loss of control

  • does not bypass a child’s will or values

  • does not involve suggestion of beliefs, memories, or behaviors without the child’s awareness

Instead, it uses imagination and focus—skills children naturally possess—to support calming, confidence, emotional regulation, and self-awareness.

Children remain aware, in control, and able to stop or speak at any time.

Emotional safety and nervous system awareness

All Happy Core™ tools are designed with nervous system regulation as the starting point.

We do not push children into emotional intensity or overwhelm.
We do not use fear, shame, or compliance-based techniques.

Our approach prioritizes:

  • emotional regulation before skill-building

  • pacing that matches the child’s readiness

  • repair and reassurance after moments of distress

Children are supported in returning to a sense of safety and agency.

Professional scope and boundaries

The Happy Core™ offers skills-based, educational, and therapeutic support designed to complement—not replace—medical or emergency care.

We do not:

  • provide crisis intervention or emergency mental health services

  • offer medical diagnosis or prescribe medication

  • replace the role of a child’s primary healthcare provider

Families are encouraged to seek appropriate medical, psychological, or emergency support when needed.

Collaboration with schools and professionals

When working in schools or alongside clinicians:

  • tools are adapted to the setting and age group

  • language is aligned with existing support plans where appropriate

  • collaboration is respectful, transparent, and within ethical boundaries

We value shared language and consistency—but never at the expense of a child’s safety or autonomy.

Privacy and respect

Children’s experiences, stories, and identities are treated with respect and confidentiality.

  • Personal details are not shared publicly without consent.

  • Any examples used in educational material are anonymized or fictionalized.

  • Children are never used for marketing or promotional purposes without explicit parental permission.

Our guiding principle

Children are not problems to be fixed.
They are individuals learning how to navigate a complex world.

Our responsibility is to offer tools that empower—not control—and to do so with integrity, compassion, and care.
